Post image for Bitter Brief 11: Sexism, Parenting, and Clarence Thomas Bobbleheads

[powerpress]

In this week’s installment of the Bitter Brief, our perennial punching bag, Mr. Law School, gives us networking “advice” with which we, naturally, take issue. We take umbrage at the sexist undertones of Law Firm 10′s latest musings on marriage and parenting and Matthew Richardson’s equating the declining value of mid-level associates with the declining hotness of women. And, on the lighter side, Clarence Thomas is the latest SCOTUS inductee into a very quirky—but exclusive—club.

[powerpress]

The long weekend is over, and Kimber is much the worse for wear after her birthday celebration goes awry, Mark takes the legal profession to task for its shameful lack of meaningful diversity, we have a titter over the Fox Twitter controversy, and our Casey Anthony verdict predictions turn out to be way off target.

In this week’s chock full ‘o’ law edition of the Bitter Brief, we delve into the same-sex marriage controversy and honor the few, the brave . . . the Republicans who made it happen. Our own personal experiences with former Governor of Illinois, Rod Blagojevich, factor into our discussion of the recent verdict. And, finally, we return to the endless well of douchebaggery that is Mr. Law School.

Post image for Bitter Brief 08: Trial by Combat, Epic Resignations, and Schooling Mr. Law School

[powerpress]

In this week’s installment of the Bitter Brief, Kimber tries, and fails, to convince Mark of the merits of Game of Thrones-style “trial by combat,” Namby Pamby’s fantasies about quitting his job in epic fashion inspire us to discuss our own “take this job and shove it” moments, and, once again, Mr. Law School gets schooled.

Post image for Bitter Brief, ep. 03: Fit Congressmen, Pedarasty, & Masturbating At the Office

[powerpress]

In this installment of The Bitter Brief, Mark’s bitterness about an unusually fit Illinois congressman cannot be contained. We have two nominees for Judge of the Week—one from, you guessed it, Florida, and the other with interesting views on pederasty. In Lawsuits and Legislation, it’s another “WTF, Florida?” moment as a brave lawyer succeeds in bringing the sexy back, and Texas continues its crusade against being messed with, especially as it concerns Texans’ junk. All those bar exam takers out there will be thrilled to see an actual case of RAP in action. Oh, and we talk about a woman now legally permitted to masturbate at the office…at her desk…while looking at porn.
