Hand Over Your Porn. Please?

Police in Colorado are still on the hunt for a man claiming to be a detective who tried to convince an adult novelty shop to give him free porn videos so that he could “make sure the performers weren’t underage.” The man apparently approached the store’s manager three times in nine days, flashing some sort of badge and handing over a business card—with no name on it—from the local police “age verification unit.” Sensing after the third try that the man may not, in fact, be an official porn inspector for the police, the store’s manager finally called the cops. Local police have confirmed that there is no such thing as an age verification unit, and the would-be inspector is still at large.

Legal analysts following the case have yet to agree on whether the porn-seeker, if caught, will likely be charged with an actual crime. In the interim, though, they would like to introduce him to this new thing called the “Internet.” Granted, it’s not as fancy as a fake badge, but it may just do the trick. [AP via Yahoo]
