Aldous Huxley once said, “Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.” Well, here are some facts that we couldn’t ignore.

1,400,000

15
Number of lawyers present at a hearing that gave entertainment lawyer John Branca and music executive John McClain temporary control of Jackson’s estate based on the singer’s 2002 will, according to The Los Angeles Times.

150
Total number of daily legal cartoons David Mills has posted (excluding three Caption Content postings) between July 10, 2009 and December 15, 2008 to his site Courtoons.net.

10,000 to 15,000
Speaking fee in U.S. dollars for “legendary defence [sic] attorney” F. Lee Bailey, according to Speaking.com.

50,001
Speaking fee in U.S. dollars for CNBC’s Mad Money host, American Lawyer magazine launcher and 1984 Harvard Law graduate Jim Cramer, according to AllAmericanSpeakers.com.

50,000 to 75,000
Speaking fee in U.S. dollars for “Bueller? Bueller?” actor and 1970 Yale Law School valedictorian Ben Stein, according to Speaking.com.

1,120
Total number of lawyers at Bingham McCutchen when that firm merges with McKee Nelson’s 120 lawyers on Aug. 1, according to The Boston Globe.

4,985
Total number of laid-off lawyers as of July 5, according to the Layoff Tracker at Law Shucks.

$300,000

23
Current U.S. News & World Report ranking for the University of Illinois law school.

$750

3,000
Number of law firms The U.S. News & World Report plans to evaluate in its inaugural editions of law firm rankings, according to The Denver Business Journal—despite concerns such as Brian Leiter’s, which argue there are already “multiple, established ranking sources (American Lawyer and Vault primarily), and it’s less clear who the target audience will be.”

94,200

BL1Y | July 10 | 06:51 PM Guano: Actually, I know I don't because even if what I posted was technically a violation of some act (see me, not being a know-it-all), no one would care enough to prosecute someone over such basic investment advice given anonymously on a barely popular website. I know shit about the law, but I know no federal agency gives two shits about what I say here.

arcteryx | August 21 | 01:00 AM Better than I thought! I bought this because I needed an extra light layer for my runs, something to deal with the New England spring/summer weather when you never know how it's going to be(wet?windy?hot?cool?) It packs down close to nothing, and really does the trick when it comes to NE spring/early summer so far! I wasn't sure it would do much of anything when I first saw how light it was. However, it keeps me surprisingly warm, yet I never get too hot either. I find myself wearing it almost every day. Just a note...It does fit a little larger than other ArcTeryx Jacket(trim fit vs athletic fit- the trim fit is looser- go figure?) So if you're in between sizes, go smaller unless you want it on the looser side. I'm 5'6" 130 lbs and the xs fits perfectly with a little room, but certainly not baggy. The front's right around the belt of my low rise's, and there's a long drop hem for coverage in back(covers most of my butt). Yet another jacket that ArcTeryx has mastered!
