Nasza Klasa: It’s Not Even Porn!

Warning to Big Firm lawyers across America: the hours you spend at work trolling around the Internet for gossip and catching up with friends may be in danger. That is, at least, if your firms decide to follow the lead of Poland’s national police headquarters, which, international media sources report, has just banned officers from using “Nasza Klasa,” a popular social networking site similar to Facebook, “because they were spending too much time using it.”

A Polish newspaper reports that the police leaders’ decision to ban the social networking site is owed in large part to an “internal investigation [which] had shown police officers were often using Nasza Klasa, or ‘our class’, for idle chit-chat instead of working.’”

Clearly, the powers that be at Poland’s national police headquarters have a top-flight investigatory team assembled, but since we’re in the Internet biz over here at Bitter Lawyer, we did want to pass on a little free advice, just to curb costs on the next internal investigation: You know all those officers who keep spending time on “PornTown.com” during work hours?  There’s a slightly more than decent chance that they, too, may be using that site for idle reasons unrelated to working. Just a heads up.  [Reuters]
