The other day, I was minding my own business, reviewing a bunch of documents, when the phone rang. Outside number. Didn’t recognize it. But like I moron, I answered it – thought maybe it was this cute chick I met the day before. Anyway, the guy asked for “Mr. Wolf.” Mr. Wolf is a notorious asshole partner. But I’d never met him. Not sure I’ve ever even seen the dude. So I told the anonymous voice on the other end of the phone that he had the wrong number, then transferred the call to Mr. Wolf’s secretary. Easy enough, right? Wrong. A minute later, Wolf called and started yelling at me. Told me I never should have transferred the call. What? Then, ten minutes after that, his secretary told me Wolf needed my help in connection with a “major doc review.” Before I knew it, I was in a conference room at some law firm in South Carolina, reviewing thousands of boring, horribly complicated documents. I was there for ten straight days. All because some guy I didn’t even know dialed the wrong goddamn phone number.

this has got to be the best story i have read in your site. it totally sucks that it happened to you. but its so funny.
Well, so what?! Sounds like you should feel lucky you have a job. Im sure you got paid your normal for doing that work. If you dont like it, hang a shingle and scrip for your own cases. . . that is if you have grown a pair yet.
“I’m sorry, I’m not really familiar with the phone system here. How about I get you the number for main reception?”
WoW ! i completely agree with the author of this post…for the past month ive been getting called by an unknown number, by some stupid law firm, calling for a guy named “Benjamin Rodrigues”. I dont know who the hell that is, and how he , or whoever got a hold of my number…its not like i can call back to clarify things because it will turn into a Mr.Wolf type deal…so im gonna make sure that when I talk to my attorney that call does not come through again.
