It’s been a few weeks since we’ve unlocked the Bitter Vault and dug into the archives, but thank the Bitter Gods – we’re doing it today!
If you missed these deposition videos from a few years ago, here’s your chance. Don’t miss them again.

What luck! It’s Thursday, which means it’s time to dig into Bitter Lawyer’s archives.
Yes, it’s time for some art from Bitter Poet, who brought together such odd bedfellows such as depositions and . . . Tom Waits and his lyrics. This one is from September 2011. It still delivers.
It’s Thursday and time to crank open the Bitter Vault and see what gold we can find.
Here’s a classic Law Firm 10 post from almost two years ago. Classic controversy.
Yeah, we know. We recently re-posted these but in celebration of Mr. Estrin’s new book, we thought we’d fire them off again for you.

It’s Thursday. Time to get the interns to help open the Bitter Vault and find some riches to share.
It’s been a while since Ex-Bitter has laid down some wisdom on us with his big legal brain, so here’s one from a year ago. As an associate, this Bitter once bought plants from a partner that his daughter was selling for her school fundraiser. I had just started at the firm and felt obligated to buy big, spending at least $100 (“big” is relative). The partner took my money, but I never saw the plants, despite one or two friendly inquires.
If you’re one of the few lucky (or unlucky) young attorneys who have landed a job in a firm in this ever-so-slowly-improving job market, then take heed and listen to the wisdom of Namby Pamby.

We love Thursdays around here because on Thursday we crank open the Bitter Vault time. Let’s do it!
Are you in a small firm? Thinking about joining? Well, read on . . .

Sure, it’s not Thursday yet but let’s open the vault early this week. This staffer happened to be a real estate transactional attorney in her former life and couldn’t agree more with this post. However, my success rate at closing transactions was much higher than closing dating transactions.

This one from the Bitter Vault is totally brilliant. So we can’t figure out why someone hasn’t actually taken C. Hank Peters’ advice: Take a successful business model – or at least elements from a successful business model – and use it in your totally unrelated industry! IKEA + Law Practice = World Domination.

A little over a year ago we premiered the first episode of the Bitter Lawyer original series The Bottom Rung. It was created by Matt Ritter. He wrote, produced, and played the lead role in the web series. It didn’t take long before he was discovered and swept away from Bitter Lawyer. More on that in the next post, but we can say we knew Matt before he blew up.
