Tortious Tortoise vs. The World

(Click for big.)

If you’d told me a year ago that I was going to be drawing for Bitter Lawyer, I probably would’ve said “shut up shut up shut up I haven’t briefed for Crim yet.”

I’ve been drawing for as long as most people, only I didn’t have the sense to quit around middle school. My work has been featured in the Dudley Review, the Harvard Law Record, the plays of the HLS Drama Society, my mom’s fridge, and several cocktail napkins near you. Sometimes, in interviews, I casually mention that I’m published in the HLR, and then quickly change the subject before the interviewer can ask which HLR I mean.

My favorite Justice is Thomas, because he shows there’s hope for people who don’t talk in class.

I’m not a fan of long introductions, unless I need to pad my pagecount, so in conclusion, welcome. These are my comics. I hope they amuse you for a billing interval or two. Updates will be weekly, but don’t estop me on that.

Albert Wang is a true double threat, with all the usefulness of an artist coupled with all the personality of a lawyer. Read more of his work on Tumblr or LiveJournal.

    Welcome, Mr. Albert Wang!

I am not sure that I understand the comic, but then again, I am not from this country, nor did I attend law school here. If you can please to explain the humour, this would be very helpful to me.

I think it’s pretty obvious, it’s about a TORTOISE that committed a TORT. Negligence to be specifically.

      *Negligence more specifically

Pretty much. Also, ‘tortious’ is one of my favorite words, and bad things happening to people for no reason is always funny (if you’re a lawyer) (especially a personal injury one.)

Well I personally know the feeling of leaving the house and thinking I left the stove on or the garage door open so it’s funny that he really did leave something on and then BAM, consequences.

This is very cute. I LOVE legal comics; their are so few of them these days! My old BF used to do comics, and he was an acccountant, and not all that funny, but he had some artistic skills.

Now, unfortunateley, he drinks alot of alcohol and I am afraid is turning into an alcoholic. That is why I had to break up with him. I could NOT imagine how he would be if we got MARRIED and had children. I am afraid he would become abusive, or worse yet, a “dry drunk”. That is why I am not with a man right now.

And all of that came from “this is very cute. I LOVE legal comics.” Word vomit if I ever saw it.

Well when they make a double bag thick enough I would at least save the hour.

I’m starting to get the feeling that this website is slowly shifting from “bitter” lawyer, to just “lawyer.” And from cutting edge comedy, to, I don’t even know. At least Richardson is still around.

Lawyerist is unintentionally funnier than this site.
